About Me
I established Reed Financial Planning LLC to reflect my values and experiences.
I taught anthropology at the Ohio State University for many years. My interest in financial planning developed as I managed my own family’s finances and wrestled with OSU’s retirement plan and the State Teachers Retirement System. I still consider myself a teacher and created Reed Financial Planning so I could help people make informed financial decisions.
I focus on serving middle-income America. I am a founding member of the Alliance of Cambridge Advisors, a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping ordinary people manage their money.
I am a Registered Investment Advisor (State of Ohio), a Certified Financial Planner™ and a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals.
I joined the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors, the organization of fee-only financial planners, because being fee-only allows me to give you unbiased advice.
I began this career wanting to help friends ill-served by the financial services industry. Today I have a particular interest is working with teachers, small business owners, state employees and creative arts professionals (my wife, Lisa Klein, is an author). We have two sons.
In my spare time I enjoy reading and playing classical guitar.
